A friend gets me all the model stuff he can find from the thrift stores and on the latest batch that had the 60 El Camino body was a straight six,I first thought it was a Ford six with the front sump oil  and since the carb was on the drivers side I thought it was a 64 and earlier 223 but the oil filter is not in the correct location for a Ford 223 so I think it could be from a Chevy II.  It has a hole through it for the metal axle and the automatic trans looks to have a manual bellhousing.

'62 Nova hardtop and convertible kits, and '63 wagon kits have the six.  The axle hole is on the large side.  '62 engines have the intake and exhaust manifolds molded as part of the block, '63 has them as separate parts.

The little Ford sixes have no axle hole, they were not meant to be put into the Falcon or Comet.

This must be a 62 engine as the manifolds are made with the block and yes the hole is on the large side.

The stock valve cover has the carburetor molded on alongside it, and the air cleaner is a separate part.

'64 Chevelle wagon and El Camino kits also have sixes.  These are similar to each other (but not exactly the same) but are different (more parts, more detail) from the Nova engine.
