Roth and Haggar were just so diametrically opposed though. Roth vocalized, didn't really sing, and was all about the party. Sammy has way more talent as a singer and musician, but wasn't quite the front man Roth was. I mean, Sammy is great, but as far as the "show" goes, he's no Roth! I'm 51 and knew of him, listened to Pantera years ago but not so much anymore. I'm still a metal head and always will be!!!

Have to agree with ya on Roth and Haggar.. I always like Haggar on his solo stuff and I do like the Roth era of music, just always thought he was a bit snobbish and demanded the spotlight. That was until Eddie took it over and that's when I think Roth and Eddie started distancing themselves as musicians and bandmates..
TonyK Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 When people have asked which version of Van Halen I like better, Roth or Haggar, I always answer "it's even". Both are a bit different style of music but I like it all. Everyone in that band contributed so much talent.
