I am interested in buying a 1966 ford f100 kit but was curious if they still had issues with fitment and warping or if that had been resolved.

I Had bought the 1969 kit and i think the 1970 kit and the hood was so horrible that i eventually gave up.

Also, what is the difference between the styleside, custom and styleside short

One is a 65 instead of 66 but i dont see whats different.  Obviously the short is a short wheelbase but the others?

The difference between the '65 and '66 is the grilles. Stylesides are the wide beds. Flaresides are narrow with fenders on the outside. Don't know about the fit and warp as I haven't bought one and won't.

I've built several of the '65 & '66 Fords, and haven't had a problem.

do you know if they have ever fixed the hoods on the 70's ones. I am looking to buy the moebius/model king 1970 short bed, but if the hood is still too big and super warped, im not going to bother https://www.hobbylinc.com/model-king-1970-ford-f-100-custom-cab-plastic-model-truck-kit-1:25-scale-1228

The hood on my ‘70 F-100 custom cab 4x4 does not seem to be too big or warped. The cowl area is sunken a bit in this photo, but will be supported when the firewall is in place.

great, thank you very much. i started the 66 flare side this morning and looks good. i prefer the look of the 70 over the 66, so i will pickup the 70. the one i had in the 69, was way too big, warped and hung over the edges too much. it was pretty horrible
