hedotwo Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Would anyone know if the fender port holes from the '61 Buick Special will work on the '61 Invicta? Pics show both are 3 hole but I'm not sure they interchange. I have an Invicta that's missing them and would like to know if my search can include the '61 Special. Thanks!
ChrisBcritter Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 I don't have an Invicta, but here's the wagon: I take it you saw these on eBay now? https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-1961-BUICK-SPECIAL-WAGON-1-25-ORIGINAL-FENDER-PORT-HOLES-CIRCA-1961/233852209975

Spacing really shouldn't matter too much as I could always separate them before installing. It's the shape I'm concerned about, which appear to be really close. Thanks a bunch Chris! Wickersham Humble Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 I have an unbuilt '61 Special wagon kit (in progress since that year, of course -- as a two-door panel now) an I may not use the chrome port holes... originally I filled the holes. I have a nailhead V-8 in it, and was thinking about going with four ports per side, which would of course require one more stick of three to make eight. Trade, or ?? Wick Humble, 75 years of age

NOBLNG Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 In my ‘68 charger thread...GMP 440 related how he makes side marker lights. The same method could be used to make the Buick portholes. Quote: “What I did when I wanted to make round marker lights for the AMT 68 Roadrunner kit; I used light duty aluminum foil, placed a piece over the marker light on my MPC 68 Coronet. Pressed it down to make the impression of the marker light. Filled the backside with a mixture of superglue and baking soda. Now you made a casting of the marker light. The foil sticks to it so all you have to do is just trim off the excess on the sides and your done.”
59 Impala Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I just measured my 61 Buick Special wagon and the ports are the same size that you have posted here, so, they should work.
