I had to go to the parts box and use a low rider tire and wheel from a 65 Chevy lowrider kit I made into a Nascar Impala. By rule the car has to have a spare tire. Apparently it doesn't have to be the same size as the tires on the rest of the car. There is not much room in the improvised trunk they had on these Grand Sports. I'm thinking they might have used a usac sprint car front tire and wheel  as the spare. It sure looks a lot like it. Just a guess on my part.

The interior is done. Parts of it are attached to the body and will mate with the interior in the final assembly.

The black knob in the middle of the dash is the washers for the windshield. It might be some kind of manual pump kind of deal. Not really sure. All the items on the middle dash had little labels made from one of those dial up label makers they had back in the day telling what each item was for.   The two guages were temperature guages. One for the engine oil and one for the differential oil. needless to say, I could not model the little black labels. That's way above my pay grade.

Sorry Mark, I kinda lost track of your thread.  The interior looks great?

Thats okay , Mike. I'm just doing this wip  to keep a record of the build for myself in the future, if I want to go back to see how I did something. Thanks for your interest in the build.

I finally got the body, interior and frame together. But being an amt model, where nothing really fits that well , you have to put a slight bend in the body to attach it to the frame. this caused a hood that fit before not to be flush any more. Now I need to figure out a way to make it more flush. I hate a hood that does not fit well. I was happy to see that the white stripe decals I made for the tires came out nicely. As soon as I finish the tires I will get them installed and then I can decal and future. Be glad to get this one done.

Hang in there Mark, I know you'll get it done.  I agree tho, this is not a great kit except for the body. I'm not too crazy about how mine came out.

Thanks, guys. I got the tires finished and mounted and have it sitting flat and it actually looks better then I thought it would. I just need to add the park lamps, a fine mesh grille screen , the knock offs on the wheels, the headlamp covers and a lot of detail touching up here and there. Oh yes, I think I figured out how to get the hood more flush. I always make a list of things that have to be done in a builders log book I keep. I probably would have forgot the park lamps if I didnt keep a checklist going. Shouldn't be too much longer.

As of 4:20 this afternoon the build part of the model is complete. I finally got the hood to fit almost flush but no way to make it perfect. All that's left is decalling and futuring. Well, its not really future anymore, but I hear its the same stuff. Hopefully I can get it finished up Monday and do the final photos on Tuesday and get them posted up on Wednesday.

Looks amazing! I'll use these as a reference to build the Gulf One Corvette.

Maxx, be sure to post a wip so we can follow along on your journey. Thanks for the kind word.

Oh, I will. I may use the AMT '63 kit.

You know, I just realized I never thanked all you guys for the positive support you gave me through this build. It means a lot to keep getting positive reinforcement along the journey of a  wip. Even though I know you could have pointed out better ways to do something you were professional enough to keep them to yourselves and I thank you all for that. Usually somebody tells me about a better way after it's too late so all they actually do is tell me what a horrible job I just did and if I ever do another one, I can fix it. So, thanks again guys even though it's way too late.
