Good evening everyone. I'm considering doing some conversations of a couple semi truck kits. There is a site that sells cabs made out of resin which I'm sure you all know about. My questions are about the Mack Superliner with sleeper, and the Mack 700 cabover with sleeper.  What kits should I use as donors for chassis, and do they have glass (clear plastic) or do I have to come up with my own clear plastic for windows? Has anyone done conversions using either of these 2 cabs If so can you post pics of your completed models?

as far as the chassis, i would use the AMT DM 800 for superliner and for the 700 use any of the AMT cabovers . most resin cab do not have the glass..if they do it should say..

The only downside I see with the MPC/ERTL/AMT Mack DM 600 and 800 truck kits are the spacing between the drive axles in the tandem, the axles are further appart than they are in most highway tandems and the chassis is a heavy duty as the DM series are for construction purposes (DM=Dump/Mixer).

I have built the M.T.F.A. version of the F-Model on the AMT R-Model chassis before without issue. I plan to use the AMT Cruiseliner chassis for my next one, with the steering box relocated. Most resin kits require some planning to get the windows in. I made a frame for the windshield to slide into on my Brockway (same cab as F-model Mack). It was also built on a R-model frame, but with Hendrickson suspension.
