Hello All

I recently picked up the reissued AMT (Round2) USA-1 Monster Truck.  Like so many kits, the sidewalls of the tires have no text/script.   Is there an aftermarket set of tires that would be appropriate that include the 'Goodyear' lettering?   Or, maybe they aren't Goodyear - but that is what I assume....

The only 1/25 monster truck tires with lettering are the early AMT ones from the Bigfoot 1 kit and the 87-91 body style Bigfoot kits without the red and yellow stripes. Overall these tires are awful so I wouldn't recommend trying to find any. You're best bet is probably to try to find a 1/18 or so scale tire decal or dry transfer.

Bring this back from the dead..

I am building a Bigfoot kit and I do have the first issue of the Bigfoot kit with the Good Year lettering, and the later ones from the #15 I believe, with red and yellow stripe... now to my issue... they have the correct outer rim size.. but the inner one is WAY to big. Is the Lindberg tires any better or is there any alternatives?? The Monster Jam 1/24 die casts are way to small tires. Found some thing on Aliexpress but don't know if they are anything to go in to.

Any Ideas?

Yeah, early tires with the molded in lettering are just bad. All of the later 1/25 Bigfoot and USA-1 tires are better and will still fit the early rims. The Jurrasic Attack and Ninja Turtle trucks also have the good tires and can sometimes be found a little cheaper than the other kits. AMT also put out a parts pack of just the good tires a few years ago.

The Lindberg tires are better but they're a bit out of scale for 1/25 vehicles.

If you can 3d print there are some good tires on Cults that are honestly better than anything in a kit so far.

Tanks! I Belive they look largely the same except for the text, but then again the tires I refer to are the ones of the first tube frame Bigfoot release.

I did end up cutting up a set of the tires with lettering to transplant the outer face to the newer tires, just to get the same center bore instead of the huge inner rim. All the text will probably be removed.. And yes the best tires will proboblsy be printed but I don't have a printer at the moment.

To my knowledge the tube frame kits have always had the good tires, and those come in all the other AMT monster trucks now. But not the MPC kits like the Datsun tow truck. In older kits you had to cut the mold disc out of the small side of the tire but for that last 15 years or so they've been precut.

These are the ones I have, on the rig in the picture are the kit supplied ones.. I do remember that I had to cut the center out but not sure, it might be as you mentioned, but they were at least without the text. I have the newer Hotwheels release as well built by my son, did not reflect on the tires except for them fact that they also have the big rim size on the inside.

@Fat Brian I took a peek at my sons Hot Wheels truck and also in the box of the red and yellow stripe #10 truck. The later have the cut away center but no text. There is a difference but it ain’t to big when you see them irl in my opinion.
