I haven't built model kit since the 60's.  I currently have a 1949 Chevy Classic truck and wanted to build a model that looks like what I have.  Been looking at the AMT 1950 kit since I can't find a 1949.  I'm sure I'll have building questions.

Welcome to our plastic playground Bob.  Yeah, the '50 Chevy truck kit should work fine for you...... You'll just need to find those wheels.

Welcome Bob!  Beautiful truck you have there.  That AMT '50 Chevy is a nice kit in my opinion.  I built one in the mid '90s during my brief re-entry into the hobby before another 25 year break.  I posted pictures in my "Introduce Yourself" post a while back.  I'm just getting back into the hobby myself.  Good luck.  You will find lots of information and really helpful people on this forum.
