ScrappyJ Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Back for a second look. Wait, I mean 3rd, no 4th, no...aw shucks, lost count. I just can't seem to get enough of looking at this thing. Again, Bill, this is stunning!!! What's the paint? Stance, styling, color...it all just seems to work so well...
BKIN10SECS Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 (edited) Most of us all know Mr. Stillwagons incredible work. Alot of people see his works and are imediatly attracted to his phenomenol painting abilities. But wait....there are some very subtle and very look changing mods that he has going on, which only further inhance those incredible paint jobs but sometimes, may be missed if you dont know what to look for. Now look what we have here!!!! A Box Nova, we can all agree that the Box Nova has been done and done and done. Mr. Stillwagon has taken this subject and has turned it into a modern, sexy never been seen before (not by me) rendition, that I could picture as a 1:1 vehicle on the cover of a custom car mag or maybe with all the Retro cars we see the Big 3 putting out, at a showroom floor near you. Bravo Mr. Stillwagon you have once again built a model car that makes us mere mortals go WOW!!!!!!!!!! PS. Those rescribed doors and door lines really make this car incredible. IMHO Edited November 29, 2008 by BKIN10SECS
Kustommerc Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Thanks Guys for the kind compliments! I've had that Nova kit for years, I Love those cars but it seems they're always either a Race Car or a Pro street car (Both of which I like!) I just thought I'd try the roadster look. When I first did it I hated it but when I re-did the doorlines, I thought that made it a lot better. I'm still not in love with the cowl hood but I had to do that because the cowl area looked a mile wide after I grafted the interior in. fortunately, the rear overhang of the scoop hides a lot of that width in the cowl. I guess that's called engineering by mistake! Dirk, the paint is HOK Candy Red over duplicolor copper metalspecks straight from the spray can. Raul, the engine is still in the box! it's a curbside with a homemade floorpan, I couldn't get the chassis to work because of the interior depth. (This is really just a slackers excuse to allow Me to move on to something else !) As the saying goes: "Too many models, too little time!" Thanks again guys!
cruz Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 You did it again Billy, this thing is awesome man. There's only one thing missing, the white wall tires!!!!
Bernard Kron Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 You did it again Billy, this thing is awesome man. There's only one thing missing, the white wall tires!!!! On this build they're aluminum colored!
Skull08 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Does Bob Dudek have an aftermarket company to get those wheels from, or did he makes those specifically for you?
Peter Lombardo Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 That is a beautiful roadster!! Very well planned out..everything fits the concept perfectly. The paint is great...the red candy draws attention to the design, which is incredibly........Sweet.
Bobdude Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 To answer Skull 08's questions. Yes,I do make aluminum parts for the aftermarket on a hobby level.I don't have a website, just a few pics on my Fotki album. The wheels I made for Bill and our Host were a one time thing.
gilsdropshop1 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 awsome build killer stance! red good choice love the wheels.
