Kromolly Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Cool history. Check out the story of Fageol trucks, which was later acquired by T. A. Peterman to become Peterbilt. Fageol did some aluminum "weight-saving" construction in the 1930s, and IIRC they built a nearly all aluminum frame & body truck that ultimately did not save the amount of weight expected. I'll have to scour my magazine archives for that story.
Richard Bartrop Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Pierce-Arrow was using cast aluminum bodies as early as 1904.
