Captain Spaulding Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Decided to build Revell's Peterbilt 359 Conventional as my next project. Have only built two other rigs before and they were over 10 years ago . Seen this one on sale so decided to give it a go. Looks to be a pretty straightforward kit so should be an easy build.
Captain Spaulding Posted March 24, 2021 Author Posted March 24, 2021 Not much to show so far, painted the frame and glued the gas tanks on. Trying to decide on body and interior colors, thinking of a maroon for the body. Need to check through my paints and see what strikes me.
doorsovdoon Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Cool. I built this rig recently, you won't be disappointed, it's a really nice kit. Looking forward to seeing it progress mate.

Liking the kit so far, not as detailed as the Australian Kenworth I last did but nothing wrong with doing something a little easier too. 7 hours ago, Bills72sj said: Following too. Have one in the stash. Thanks pal
Captain Spaulding Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Been slowly working away on the Pete, got the rear axles and tires installed. Kinda thinking now I should of done the chassis in another color but it's painted now not going to cover up what I already did. Have to remember that for my next rig build.
Captain Spaulding Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Decided on the paint for the Pete, GM dark garnet red, a good looking color only hope when it dries it still looks as good.
Captain Spaulding Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 Got all the wheels on the Pete now, coming along really good so far. Paint is looking good on the body too, gonna look really good with the chrome pieces attached.

Captain Spaulding Posted April 5, 2021 Author Posted April 5, 2021 Got the motor all painted and assembled, not the exact color little brighter but came out pretty good.

Captain Spaulding Posted April 7, 2021 Author Posted April 7, 2021 Got the interior assembled today, came out pretty good. Tried to do the chrome ring around the gauges but hands shook too much so gave up on that.
Captain Spaulding Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 Body and chassis are now combined, coming together easily. Not much left to do on this build.
Captain Spaulding Posted April 9, 2021 Author Posted April 9, 2021 The kit is finished and has been posted in the under glass section. Thanks everyone who took the time to look or comment.
