Kromolly Posted April 13, 2021 Author Posted April 13, 2021 Some progress on the C20. Between working (employment), a 1:1 truck project, and now spring yardwork (not complaining about spring), time is hard to come by. I've been working on paint and weathering on the hood, bed and roof. Since I had to start over with a different cab, I haven't painted it yet. I painted and assembled the interior. My old truck that I am basing this off of was converted to a Turbo 400 automatic when the 425 nailhead was installed, and they used a Mustang shifter. The closest thing I could find was a piece of the console and the shifter from the MPC '73 Mercury Cougar that I previously robbed a roof from. Close enough for me. Pictures below are a halffast mockup without wheels... just fitting things together to get an idea of how it will look. 2
alan barton Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 This just might be the best seat cover I've ever seen! Reeeeeally nice texture and authenticity there, Roy! Cheers Alan
Plowboy Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 That interior looks great Roy! Nice to see one painted the right color too!

Cheers Alan Thank you Alan. I found a catalog online and took a screenshot of a seat cover & scaled it to fit, printed and white glued it to the seat. A little pastel rubbed in made it look used,

It might be a tad brassy, but it'll work.
Kromolly Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 It's been a long time since I gave an update on this particular WIP. I mentioned in another post that I've been away from the hobby for a few years. I'm calling this one done tonight, finally, with the exception of finding some "west coast" style extended pickup mirrors. I haven't completed a model in 30 years, so this is the first in a very long time. I will post under completed projects when I can get some better pics. Recap, this is a replica of a '64 Chevrolet C20 pickup that I owned in the 1980s. It had a Buick 425 nailhead transplant which I replicated here. I took some artistic license with the worn paint. My 1:1 wasn't faded as bad, but I like the result and it was fun as this is my first attempt at "weathering". 1
