I have this figure of Kikyou from Inuyasha that my sister gave me. As ya can see she now has a handicap

I Had been using her to stand by some of my cars in pictures till her arm vanished never to be seen again.

We went off today to see if the store she came from had anymore but they don't, and I've peeked online with no luck. So now I guess I'm stuck with trying to make her a new arm. I have the idea I can use an arm from a Fujimi figure but have no idea how to make that sleeve. I thought of putty shaped up but wouldn't that be fragile and pretty useless for her job ?? Any ideas on this that could help me out

Edit The image code thinks the pic in the link above is deleted so I just killed the code and added the link

Rick, maybe you could glue on an arm from one of the fujimi people, an then form the sleeve from "Sculpey" It's like a 2 part modeling clay you can use to form into a sleeve. Maybe it'll work, I've seen it used to modify those little military figures, an it looks like it'll work pretty good.I have seen it at Micheals Arts & Crafts. Hope this helps. ;)

George I'll look into that clay an see if hobby lobby has it may be my answer there

Dave She was a keychain when I got her ... I find her chain all the time just not her arm lol. Don't really have a bunch of them lol The ones in the background are some Ninja Turtle toys that are about the same size I found the other day. They could take her job of standing by a car but somehow I doubt a Turtle or a Foot Ninja would have the same pleasing effect Kikyou had lol

midKnight,

If that figures is 1/25, there may be a couple of alternatives. First, you possibly could reconstruct the arm with a piece of plastic sprue and a needle file. Won't be perfect, but depending upon your skill with a file, you could come real close. If the sleeve is a problem, use some spare cloth from a sheet and some paint and cut to suit.

I don't recommend using putty of any kind, but possibly at an auto parts store there is two part expoxy putty which molds like clay and perhaps that is more structural and permanent.

thanks for helping me to find something to use to fix her. I was able to get Sculpey at Hobby lobby and was even cheap enough to justify getting it. A 2 oz brick cost 2 bucks well worth it even if I only needed a 1/4 oz at most lol may find more uses for the rest.

Rick, glad I could help. Just HOW do you pronounce her name? Is it KICK-YOU? Or Keek you? I have a hard enough time with English, much less Japanese. Glad to see the ol girl back on the circuit, and in action! Can't get enough good lookin 25th scale chicks ya know!

Hit it right on ya put it better than I could have thought how to pronounce it. Don't feel bad George if it hadn't been for my sister I'd never known how to pronounce it either lol Heck I wouldn't have been able to pronounce any of the names from that show lol.

Good job fixing Kikyo. Looks like you used the Shikon jewel to heal her. My avatar shows the two main characters from the anime. Kagome is the girl and InuYasha is the guy/half-demon.
