paul alflen Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 the AMT Chrysler 300 c chassis should fit , if you take out 4 scale inches ( 126 wb to 122wb for the 59 Dodge Coronet). I haven't done it myself, but someone on here probably has! Unless the Johan Dodge promo was engineered undersized , it should work!
Mark Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 AMT '58 Plymouth might be a bit closer, as the Plymouth and Dodge were basically the same car under the skin, while the Chrysler was a bit bigger. But if you already have a Chrysler kit on the shelf, go ahead and try it.
Mark Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Nope, all Chrysler Corporation cars except the Imperial switched to Unibody construction in the 1960 model year. (Imperial switched for 1967.) So, any Mopars prior to 1960 should have a frame. '57-'59 should have torsion bar front suspension detail.
Muncie Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 I have a dormant 1959 Dodge project going - Best fit for me was the Chrysler. It was easier to shorten the Chrysler than lengthen the Plymouth. Mother Chrysler must have interchanged a lot of parts from year to year across brands. The 1959 Doge rear bumper looks like it's the same as the Chrysler. If you have the Dodge chassis plate, it is a good guide for where and how much to cut.

I don't have the original chassis plate, that is the reason for the question

In the case of the Chrysler, you would need to cut roughly 4 scale inches out of the chassis and floor pan to suit the Dodge. In this case, you'd need to subtract about 5/32 of an inch to get very close if not exact to what you want. 19 hours ago, Muncie said: I have a dormant 1959 Dodge project going - Best fit for me was the Chrysler. They're the ones that pretty much forced GM (and later Ford) to do the same thing across their divisions. The '59 models from GM were forced on them after they saw what Chrysler did to their '57's. Those were game changers which pretty much had GM caught with their pants down.
