Move it to WV.....we had a HUGE car show last weekend with thousands attending over 2 days. Parts of it were indoors with more people than would attend a IPMS event. Sad the way things are going.

They cancelled back in the late Winter.  The problem a lot of clubs have been running into isn't so much the Restrictions as it was venues weren't willing to take any bookings until they knew for sure they could actually hold the events - after all they spent a lot of 2020 refunding deposits Nationwide.  They could probably actually hold the show in June as it stands now, but there's not time to rebook the venue and get the word out to make the event feasible.

Our club's show in March was down to the wire yes/no when they decided to turn the venue into a vaccination site, and we didn't know for sure-for sure we were a go until the Wednesday before the show.

It’s for the best. Large events have a lot of moving pieces. There is a significant investment and lots of man hours into planning an event.

It involves bringing people together from across the country and international visitors.  Mixing those who have been diligent with those who refuse to comply. Do you want to referee that?

There is also a question of host liability. Officers of organizations can be sued if anything goes wrong. Standard insurance policies aren’t covering Covid related issues.

And it ain’t over! While it seems to be getting better, that could change on a dime. Look at India.

Our NNL East team hopes all is well for our April 2022 show. And we’re hoping for one heck of a party!

Be safe and see you all healthy next spring!

Dittos!

We were hoping to return to a live, in-person event this year (April, 2021), but venues were unwilling to host anything. So, we're repeating our On-Line "Virtual Venue" event. It was very successful last year (see Model Cars Magazine Issue# 208) and we're hoping to  resume the live event next April (2022).  But for now . . .

Tom's right. Logistics for a large event are immense - far more than you might imagine. So please support your local sheriff . . . er, I mean, model car event!

PS: Only 20 days left until close of registration for dscV17 The DESERT SCALE CLASSIC Virtual Venue Model Car Championship!  Say that five times fast! Ha!

Don't wait until the last minute; don't miss out!

Kudos to your event, you sure we’re able to rock with the virus!

Thank you, Tom!  That's high praise, indeed, from the King of the NNLs.

We just were NOT going to surrender the whole year to a little bug!

Nor this year!
