This is the AMT kit #38451 slightly customed...used the the lower profile windscreen to give the car a lower profile, also tried my hand at tuck and rolling the interior, not too bad for my 1st attempt

Tried to emulate the newer finish current rodders are doing with flat metalizer paint.

Paint is Tamiya TS-50 Mica Blue covered with Model Masters Flat Lacquer. The finish came out nice...but does not photograph well.

Lots of Bare Metal foil and used "Spaz's" Mirror Chrome paint for the chrome parts after 'dechroming' them

Nice simple build, I especially like the flat finish for the paint...I have thought about doing that on one of my cars, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Everytime I think about it, the gloss clear comes out and I can't help myself. Anyway, nice job.

That looks so cool!! It's kind of funny that I'm seeing it today, because last night I found one I did about 25 years ago and was looking at it wishing it was in better shamp then it is and after seeing yours I'm going to have to find another one and do it again.

Again great looking build!

Just curious... why remove the chrome, then try to duplicate what was there in the first place with paint??? :D

I usually don't strip the bumpers, grill, etc...but the flash and casting seams were nasty, so sanded them out and hoped to get decent chrome finish.

Alcad Chrome and I just do not get along...so tried the chrome spray from Spaz - not too bad for chrome out of a can
