color for Dale Pulde's Miller Warrior chassis, body, etc...

Hi all, I just got the Monogram Miller Warrior funny car. I am going to build it and really need help on correct colors.

Any help would be great !!

Instructions say chassis is black. That doesn't seem right. Also,is the body a Candy red? Metallic?

Any other color help??

That car was running at about the time many teams quit painting chassis, in order to spend the weight,  elsewhere. I am sure that, at one time, I read what color the body was,  but, I can't recall,  now.

Leaving the chassis bare metal also made it easier to find cracks and repair broken welds on race day.  My best guess for the body is straight Miller beer red.  The later gold War Eagle funny cars were candy and pearl.

The former makes perfect sense. I'm sure you're right about the latter. That car was absolutely gorgeous!

absolutely agree on the gold - saw it in 1984 on a sunny day.  That color just danced in good light.

I would guess that somebody has the proper Miller red for that car.
