I remember when i was about 20 my mother had a 92 explorer with the 4.0 v6. That thing sucked gas more than most v8's. I filled it up and my friends and i went driving around for hours around town. By the end of the night i used 20 dollars worth of gas, which at the time was 1.25 per gal. It was not cheap to drive that thing. And it had the loudest power steering pump. You couldn't hear the engine over the pump. Ford said it was normal for it and my mom had it for 10 years without issue.
