JollySipper Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Guys, I have the Revell '32 Ford 5 window coming up as a project. It's a 2n1, you can either build a hiboy with the early hemi, or a full-fendered coupe with a small block Ford...... I'm wondering, what would keep me from being able to put the hemi in the full fender version? I see why it calls for different radius rods, the shorter ones clear the fenders, but I'm not sure about the engines...... Thanks for any help with this......
Mark Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I don't think the headers for the Hemi go outside the frame rails, so you should be able to use the fenders. I'd assemble the long block and test fit everything to make sure.
NOBLNG Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 That is exactly what I was planning on doing. I already figured that I wouldn’t be able to use the hood sides. I just went and checked now and the valve covers actually touch the fenders and the headers will likely interfere more.?
OldNYJim Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Coupla shims on the motor mounts might be an easy way to fix that...

Mark Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 The Hemi is probably sitting lower in the chassis than it would in a typical swap in a 1:1 Deuce. A fair number of these swaps have been, and continue to be, done in full scale. So it's certainly feasible in scale.
NOBLNG Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Gotta check the fit on everything with this one! In my last pic the fenders are not pushed out against the frame rails. Even with them pushed out, the headers touch...and I can’t get them pushed out enough to get the grill shell to sit down between them. I believe I will have to trim the fenders or shell??
Mark Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 You should not have to do any trimming to get the shell to fit with the fenders. I'd make sure nothing is warped and everything fits as it should, fenders first.

Looks like you're doing really good with yours. I may just run with the Ford engine so I can build it full-fendered like I want..... Thanks for all the replies, Fellas!
NOBLNG Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 And the windshield in the kit is not wide enough to cover the opening.?
JollySipper Posted June 3, 2021 Author Posted June 3, 2021 I don't have mine handy, but isn't there a chrome surround for the front glass on the chrome sprue? Seems like there was......
