I have no idea what engine is in the 1:1 car, but this will be my version. Still needs some detailing.

Thanks to STEVE MILLBERRY for the plain-jane Malibu resin hood.

Looks really good so far Lyle, but ain't it kinda "new" for ya? I mean, it's a 68! If it comes out(which I have a sneeky suspicion it will)like your other builds, it'll be a killer! I got a soft spot for late 60's(66/69) Chevelles, an this ones lookin like it'll be right up there! Nice build so far!!! :)

The car in your pic is an SS,,,,,,,,,but the flat Malibu hood that I'm using came from a friend in Canada, Steve Millbery. You can make your own by cutting out the "humps" and molding in sheet plastic.

The complete photoetch set comes from The Model Car Garage.

Lyle, this is looking really nice. My father-in-law had this exact car, in this exact color combo back when I met my wife. I always thought it was a great looking car...the vinyl roof always looked better then good on this car. Your model is looking perfect. Very nice, but I am used to that from you.

That's looking good so far, Lyle. I was curious why you went with a more lime color green, than something like Dupli-Color's Hampstead green, which looks closer. Personal preference, or, are you also going to put a mirror under it? ;) Those wheels on the 1/1 look like American Wheels' Hopsters, that came in the Revell California Wheels '67 Chevelle kit. Your choice of wheels looks great, too. OK, that's all. You can give me grief when you see me at the MAMA meeting (yes, we will be there!).

Looks excellent! I also had a 68 in high school, with a 327/2 speed powerglide!!! Low and go! Got caught drag racing by my dad..... Not good. That car rocked, I loved the crank-out vent windows. It would seat 8 skinny high school kids comfortably!

Keep up the good work!!
