You can with a '70 Chevelle and a '68 El Camino. But not a '65.

Yea, I figured that but wasn't quite sure. Thanks for letting me know

I have it in mind that the AMT '68 El Camino is a bit wider than the AMT '68-'72 Chevelles, which would greatly complicate such a kitbash. Personally I'd just go ahead and buy the Flintstone transkit--it's not THAT much.

There's a fairly decent 1/24 '70 Elky diecast available, too. Not perfect, but it's acceptable and it's CHEAP (I think I got mine at Walmart). I've seen them in red, blue, and I think maybe black.

How well does it match with the Monogram or Revell 70 Chevelles?

No idea, I haven't tried those. Maybe someone else will want to.

You are correct about that, when you put the Chevelle headlight surrounds on the El Camino body the gap between them is too wide for the Chevelle grille. I believe the hood is also a bit narrow but it's been a long time since I messed with my attempt at this. I vaguely remember trying the 70 Monte Carlo hood with the Monogram 70 Chevelle grille but the Monte hood is way long. I'd have to dig it out to see.

Yea, I thought it would be fun to make my own. But I can give it a try
