Ceaser_Salad
Hello, I am working on a 1/2500 Enterprise C from the episode Yesterdays Enterprise of the Next Generation. This is part of a group build over on the AST forums, but I thought I would show it here. This came from the B,C,E set from 1999. The E and B are off to the side for now, but I have plans for them. The nacelles are not glued on, they are just put on for show. This is the base coat, which is a winter grey. I have patching to do... should have done that earlier but oops. It will not be lit, but I want to do some battle damage as seen from the episode. I have some leftover battle damage decals from my 1/1000 Reliant. I am getting panel decals from an aftermarket seller, I will update when those are confirmed though. Thanks for looking
bisc63
Good start. Can you provide a link to "AST", I don't think I'm familiar...

Sure I can, my post isn't on there yet but the forum is filled with TONS of sci fi modelling. https://allscaletrek.com/

Ceaser_Salad
Did some detail painting today while my Firebird dried. Needs cleaning up and some edges fixing, but it's a start.
David G.
I don't know if I've seen one of these built up yet. I'll be watching with keen interest. David G.

I hope soon, because I hate it when my topics die
Ceaser_Salad
A little update: I got impatient. I was going to do the panels via decals, but I had paint and an itch to work on this. I have to say (hand painted without any masking) the lines came out pretty straight. Have to do fix ups obviously, but I am pretty happy so far. The lower saucer lines look crooked, but that is because of the escape pods being raised. They will be painted a tan colour.
David G.
Ah, I remember when my hands were that steady, not so much any more. Excellent job! That kind of work takes a lot of patience. David G.

If I had to paint that on a flat surface, no way it would look as clean.
Ceaser_Salad
Hey all, After all my belongings from the other side of the country, I decided to get back to this. I fully changed the colour palette I chose for this model. Next step is RCS thrusters, vents, escape pods and any other detail paint. It has been gloss coated so I can just use thinner to clean up over painting (all this was done by brush that's why the choice of clear coat before paint is done). After my detail painting, it's decals then flat. After flat I'll go over and "lit" areas like the deflector dish and nacelles in a gloss clear. Thanks for looking
David G.
The different colors sure do change the character of the ship. Nicely done. David G.
