The brace is made fr 9 peices of Evergreen flat strip, angle, and H shaped strip - the assembly is glued together w T liguid cement and then glued to the body w CA … the two slots will accept the hinges - think i can desgn a hinge that will slide into the slots w/out glue - to allow for movement and adjustments - should work …

The bulkhead boxes have hinged covers - made fr Evergreen sheet and strip - have to keep these thin - there is not much space under the bonnett - which has been thinned - but is still about .030 to .040 thick …

I want to hinge the box lids - but i dont want to fuss with scale hinges here - so ive drilled size 82 holes into the lids and inserted .009 steel wire - think i saw this technique on the forum - maybe Straightliner ? -  in the drag section ? Anyway - this seems to work - and yes - Optivizer all the way …

Bulkhead features are added with Evergreen .012 plastic sheet plus some rod and strip - w holes drilled for steering column and and head lamp wires …

Seats are pretty good - once the resin plug at the base is removed - but both require some sanding and prep … the drivers seat definitely has adjustment tracks at its base - maybe the passenger seat too - not sure …

The resin dash casting is accurate for chassis 008 - the dash on 010 is the same except the two fuses are out of sight - either under or on the backside of the dash - so this is a good starting point -

30 yr old resin kits are full of surprises - and some of them are good …. The gauge decals are first rate - but thats what Quarterman was known for - the photo-etch sheet - upon close inspection  - is relief etched - how nice!

So i grabbed a couple of sanders to add a bevell shape to the rings - so they will have a 3D appearance on the panel …

Which actually worked- photo 3 is the back side of the fret - which you can compare to the bezeled rings front side …

Of all the impressive stuff on this build so far, beveling those PE gauge bezels probably tops the list for me. Plus bonus Radiohead quote!

The kit radiator is a combined casting for the water and oil - its too skinny - so ive parted the oil cooler and im adding depth with some .060 Evergreen strip -

And ive re-scribed the header tank  -  with added plastic  - the result is a radiator thats a bit thicker than 2 scale inches - got some radiator photo-etch screen vibrating somewhere in the back of a parts bin or workbench drawer - putting out an all points for it -

Slim pickens for the photo-etch grill pattern - mite use this - way way back in the day Norman Veber offered a very nice grill package done by the late Fred Holtberg ….  Ive used up most of it - but the grill pattern was embossed on to the rubber backing - which i kept because - well you never know …

Every time i looked at those two resin plugs that locate the front wheels - I figured i had to do something with them … the Merritt book on early Ferraris published by John Barnes nearly fifty years ago  - it was softbound w a list price of 19.95 - check out the ebay price  now ….
 Has factory drawings and re-pros of owners manuals and parts blow-ups - this is basically what the front susp on the barchetta looked like ..

So does the wheelbase measure out to 24th scale ??  Not quite - scale would be just about 100 mm - kit whbase is about 93 mm.  Not bad - but actually closer to 25th scale - the body appears to be about 25th scale in length also - for the record …
