geetee66 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 (edited) This kit took a bit longer to complete than I thought it would, mainly due to work. I didn't mind though, as I enjoyed the process of making it as much as I did completing it. I decided to build it box-stock, as for me, this kit presented enough of a challenge without trying any modifications. I added some photoetch and wired the distributor. I added metal exhaust tips and used BMF everywhere. The interior upholstery and door panels also received BMF treatment. The radio antennae were chopped-off and replaced with silver wire. I liked this kit, although there were some alignment problems with the interior / body / chassis. The amount of fragile BMF on the body trim, made final assembly a bit tricky, but I quite like the results. The wheels were particularly well moulded and with a bit of black wash, really came out well, in my opinion. The tyres/tires have a good tread pattern as well. Nice one, RM! A note to anyone planning to build one of these: The rear wheel skirts must be glued in place after the chassis is fitted to the body. I nearly made a mistake with this, but remembered to check it just before I glued them..! If I make another one of these (and I probably will), I’ll pay more attention to test-fitting major components before I apply any detailing. The colour doesn’t really ‘ping’ in the pictures as well as it does to the eye, but it’s Rover Kingfisher Blue Metallic, with a Peugeot shade of white on the roof and rear deck. I hope you like it, thanks for looking. Edited December 20, 2008 by geetee66

Peter Lombardo Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 This is a very nice build...very faithful to what we used to see on the roads back in the early 60's. It is a very believable build. I have this kit but have just not figured out what I want to do with it yet. Nice job, very clean....I really like the continential kit on the back...looks great.
RadRidesByDan Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 This is a real nice build, what I like about it its that its not overly done up. Although im not into low-riders I like the elegant look that you kept. Excellent work
Randy Kern Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 A beautiful build, and clean, clean, clean! Great color choice and two-toning. I'm not into lowriders, but this shows that you don't need a lot of gimmicks to build a fantastic looking box stock model. Very cool!
evilone Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 That looks real good bro.Looks like a traditional lowrider.Good work. P.S. Hope we see more lowriders coming from you bro
James Flowers Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 That's my kind of Low Rider. Looks pretty much stock nice and clean. Makes for a nice blend of stock look and custom mods.
