MrMiles Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 (edited) I got 4 new pets. Little mice. I used to have a lot of pet mice when i was a kid and i would breed some for interesting colors. im not going to breed these because my wife wouldnt enjoy it Here are 2 of them. The one with the white face is tricolor, white, gray and tan Im going to get a bigger tank, but right now they just sit in their little house, so i dont think they really need bigger. The lady at petco would hold them all the time so they are already used to being held. Im not going to hold them much Edited October 11, 2021 by MrMiles
MrMiles Posted October 11, 2021 Author Posted October 11, 2021 The tan one is eating and seems to be awake now. He ran on the running disk for a while too.
JollySipper Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 I really like these little rodent creatures! I had a hamster that lived for 2 1/2 years.... He was nocturnal, as I believe mice are. I never handled him just with my hands out of fear of dropping or hurting him. I always put him in his little run-about ball, then I could carry him anywhere...... Good that you got more than one, mice are social creatures and don't do good alone.....
MrMiles Posted October 11, 2021 Author Posted October 11, 2021 (edited) Here is a really bad picture, but its my grey one cuddling the baby of the group. They were out playing for a while but they are all sleeping Edited October 11, 2021 by MrMiles
MrMiles Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 They completely blocked the entrance to the house with the wood chips. Thdy built 2 tunnels out the back corners of the house. They go in and out of the house through the tunnels
Lunajammer Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 My fiancee', as a teen, also bred mice for color and variety and sold them to the pet store. That fueled her interest in animals all the way through an animal science degree and a career in an animal nutrition lab.

JollySipper Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 What kind of shavings do you have as their bedding? I ask because the wrong type can be toxic to them........
