AMT 57 Corvette

I have two versions.one is with the tilt front end and the other is the street machine version.  I am wanting to build a sleeper version using a Caddy or Olds engine but neither has a stock hood,I will most likely just fill the hole in the hood on the street machine version but was it ever offered with a stock hood.

I believe the kit you have is descended from the old MPC kit that first appeared around 1966. Yes, it originally had a stock hood, and all other stock parts. It was quite a nice kit back in its day.

If the street machine version you have is the one that is lime green and white on the box, then the pics I posted are the same kit, stock version. It could also be the older MPC version, like Snake said. The flip nose is also derived from that kit, but is quite a monstrosity.

The flip nose kit looks a little cheesy but not sure if I have all the parts,since its supposed to be a gasser I was expecting a straight axle but it has the stock front suspension.

Then a hood from a stock AMT kit would work with no mods.

The kit you have is a great building kit, you would need to work out the exhaust.  The headers and side pipes are one peace..
