BEST OF 2008

During the year I challenged a group of

builders from the island of puerto rico

to try to build a model to compete

for best of the month. And some month we

got one or two, but sometimes 3 and four

and all detaild to the teeth. But I only picked

the one I thought was the hardest to build or the

most clean, and acurate.

Now out of all 12 I need to pick one....well

thAT'S TO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE.

I will like to ask you to do that for me.

They are all very cool man, can't pick which one is my favorite! I love the Mustang, that color is just perfect. One thing though, I thought you forgot about the green Merc I just saw posted by Cruz in his '08 builds, I think I would have gone with that one, then again, I love all of Ismael's stuff too. I'm a major fan of classic Mopars, and that Charger is onbe of the best I've seen. I'll be watching to see which one wins.

first off, i think all these cars are gourgeous

but since i had to pick one i looked at a few different things, the mustang was dropped because of the rims, i just couldnt imagine them on a classic car like that.

the greem muscle had two different rims which is allong the same lines.

i love the charger and i remember the build of it, it has a great deal of detail which is why i would have liked to see a dab of black paint on the wiperblades

the hummer looks great with that F&F scene on the bigscreen and both formulas are very nice cars aswel

but i voted for the rolls because it is a one of a kind build.

over the past year i have only seen one other rolls build and that was as a haloween prank i believe.

so apart from just the great finish of this car i also chose it on origenality of the kit build

Thank you for your comments! The Charger does have a dab of black on the wiper blades, it's just difficult to see it from that angle, I usually do it with a Sharpie marker!!!

First, I know how you feel, imagine what I had to go throu every month.

about Cruz Merc. The reasond it is not in this list is that the car was finished

on january 31, so by the rules I stablished, the car was competing for

the best of that month. And that month he was neck and neck with Ismaels

Indy car. The MERC IS A SHOW WINNER no dought. and if he would waited a day

and posteted on february 1, for sure he would won best of february.

The INDY car if you saw the work on this thing. most of it is

scratched build, parts of the suspension work, the guy has a mill

and makes his own parts out of aluminum. If you recognized the kit

you know what kind of ###### you have to deal with, but Ismael

did majic with it...considering all that this project had an adge in my eyes

over the merc. But yes the Merc is one of my favorites and Marcos knows

that. So that's why the MERC is no included.

MOST OF THIS BUILDS ARE SHOWN HERE IN THIS FORUM

I did not put the names of the builders so It wouldn't effect

the judging. I want it to be all about the build and not the builder.

Hello,

I want to publicly thank Danny (3men2s) for his enthusiasm and efforts. All year long, he has been cheering and pushing us in a good way, with the only purpose of promoting the hobby.

He came up with this model of the month and model of the year thing, ran it all by himself, and he has even given away models from his own stash as prizes. He is really the spark of our local forum

And all of this have always been done unselfishly and without the pressure of competition. On the contrary, it has always been about having fun, sharing, learning from each other and helping others push the envelope.

So let's show him our appreciation with your votes and comments!

I think this is the first time that there was a Mopar in the voting,and I did not vote for it.The 59 got my vote this time just because it is so beautifully built.I wish it was in a better setting to better show off the model and all its real beauty,please tell whom ever built that model that it is stunning to the 10th power.

I believe the point is this is a model car forum, not a place to express political or religous views. That was what I got out of the responses to your signature. I will gaurentee there woul be alot of people offended if I posted my views. I don't. This is not the place for that. That's all. These are models from another forum: Scalebuilders.com It just so happens that many of us are also active here so you may have seen most of them already. This local forum is for model builders from Puerto Rico and we have about 50-60 members. I'm one of the moderators and it is in spanish.

The last day of each month, The "model of the month" was picked out of those finished and posted that month. At the end of the year we have 12 models of the month: Those presented here.

The question is simple: From these 12 model of the month winners, which one do you like the best? That will be crowned model of the year and the modeler will get a prize kit.
