bh1701 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I posted this in the "Wanted" section, but thought I would also post here. I have a 1/25 scale model of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1A Cadillac from the second movie that I want to make look closer to the Ecto-1 from the first film. I never realized how much different stuff was added to the roof of the 2nd car until I started doing my research. I think I have everything figured out on what I need to do, but I need some help finding a siren and spotlight for the front part of the roof. Any ideas on where I might be able to find these, or ideas on how you might build them from scratch? Thanks, Bart
Engine 51 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I have seen certain types of pen caps used to make the body of the siren. Just need to find an appropriate part to attach to the front, and some sprue shaped into a mounting base. Some of those had a red lens in the front, so that’s an idea as well.

Thanks for the ideas! The stuff from "3 Inches Under" looks good. I found some custom side mirrors in my stash that should work as a substitute for the spotlight. I will look at pen tops (and odd little things I might find at Home Depot) to see if I craft a siren that looks good enough before investing much $$. Bart
espo Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 A couple of possible sources to consider: Revell '48 Ford coupe, '57 Ford Del Rio Wagon, Mustang notchback coupe was also offered as a CHP optional build. I have used the optional Fog Lights from the Galaxie '48 Chevrolet kit. As an Example, this is a '50 Olds kit I built as a CHP car.
stavanzer Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I second the '57 Del Rio and '48 Ford Coupe. Both have excellent police gear. The Del Rio wagon even has decals for the Rotator light.

Bart Let me know if you get stuck, I can easily draw up one for you and 3D print it, or send you the file and you can get it printed. Just PM me if you want me to do that.
