Hey, Fellas! I'm at kind of a standstill with the Viper until I can get some paint for the body, so I decided to start this kit. It's the same kit that my friend Anton has going here in the WIP section.... The Fujimi BMW M635 CSi. It's an Enthusiast kit, so lots of parts! This is what I have done over the last couple days. I still have to install the exhaust manifold, which is ten parts by itself.

This will be built out of box... The plan for the colors is Deep Jewel Green from Duplicolor with a "Dove" and black interior...

Anyway, this is what I have going on! Please feel free with questions & comments.....

Next on the instructions is the front suspension..... The front strut/rotor assembly is five parts per side.

Next is to install the engine, then it's on to under hood details... This being my first Fujimi Enthusiast kit, I'm trying to follow the directions to the letter!

Thanks!

I built mine stock, what a wonderful kit though, you should really enjoy building it, taking time to make sure all the small parts fit correctly, which they do.

As always, a bit of fine tuning with emery boards and small files make any model kit parts fit better!

That's a really good build.......

I was having trouble getting the engine in the bay.... I had to remove the cross member and mount the engine directly to it. Then I just installed the engine from the bottom. Now I just have to reattach the steering and fan......

Thanks! and Comment freely......

There's just a few more parts to the underside, then it's on to the interior!

Thanks for looking and for any comments, good or bad....

That's two days worth of work there! There wasn't too much adjustment needed, as everything pretty much falls together...

Thanks for the nice comment...... :D

Edit.... Anton, did you mean did I change the ride height? No, I'm just going out of the box with this. Maybe a future build can have a lowered stance with some nice wheels....

So as not to get too bogged down with all the small detail parts, I'm calling the chassis done...... I don't want to get burned out and start losing interest before I'm halfway done! Anyway, here's the 'finished' chassis.... I can always come back later and add the rest....

I wanted to show you guys what I'm doing to the glass.... They designed the kit to have ~200 parts or more, but the glass is all one piece! I wanted the door glasses opened so the interior could be seen better. Just using my scriber to work most of the way thru, then finishing with a PE saw blade...

There is a definite groove around the opening, so I just followed that.....

Up next in the build sequence is the interior....... I'm needing to order myself some flocking for the carpet, but I've done a little to the seats. This is a primer color with a coat of clear. I wanted a gray interior, so after fixing the seams in the front seats I put two coats of the primer. After that dried, I scrubbed them with Comet and a toothbrush (which has more uses than you would think!) to sand them smooth....... Then I just put one coat of Perfect Match clear. I hope it looks a bit like gray leather!

I've been making a bit of progress with the interior! The dash isn't completed yet, but you get the idea.....

I'm toying with the idea of making the carpet out of some material I have here..... We'll see how that goes.
