modelguy( jeff) Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 i love chargers and black is so hard to get just right yours stands out what color is the vinyl top looks flat black or gray
juergen Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 hi guys ! thanks for your nice comments. @jeff: the vinyl top i brushed with revell aqua flat black yes you are right the black isn´t not easy to brushed - i hope the shine looks good? greets jürgen
george 53 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) The shine looks just GREAT Juerg! It's comin out REALLY nice. I'm glad you chose this particular car to build,as it has ALWAYS been the most FAVORITE car that I've been lucky enough to own! It IS a BEAUTIFUL car, isn't it? Edited January 24, 2009 by george 53

It IS a BEAUTIFUL car, isn't it? hi george53 my friend !!! yes it is a very beautiful car today i tried to pass the interieur and wants to see the look with the wheels. the white letters are not so easy to paint for me because the old tires haven´t good letters. i hope you like the style of the charger??? the next step is the detailing of the great engine. greets jürgen Edited January 24, 2009 by juergen
george 53 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 OOOOO!!!! Juerg, that last shot of the rear quarterpanel/roof pillar, To ME, is just down-rite SEXY!!!! And, not to be nit-picky, caz it IS lookin SOOOO darn GOOD,but, If I remember correctly, the vynil trim on the roof, ran ALL the way down the A-Pillars to the base of the windsheild, with the windsheild trim, and the gutter trim on each side of it. A small point I'm sure, but an accurate one. I mean, it's lookin too nice to flub up now! I know I'M gettin off on it!!!
whale392 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I just soiled my keyboard...........that Charger is looking dead SEXY!
horsepoweraddict Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 wow!!! That body looks great as does the rest of the car. What type of paint and clear did you use if you don't mind me asking? Black is the hardest color to hide imperfections especially with all that shine but it looks like you suceeded with flying colors. Great work!!!
juergen Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 hi guys ! thanks for your very nice comments. george53: you have pn horsepoweraddict: for this charger i used for the black color tamiya ts paint. but i get it out and brushed it with my airbrush. after sanding i take 2 compound clear coat. the most time i always used 2 compound paints from the car painting industrie. i hope you can understand my bad english? greets jürgen
horsepoweraddict Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 excellent man thank you I perfectly understood you. wow your builds must get a little pricey than if your using automotive paint and clear that stuff is expensive, but your builds turn out really nice I am sure. when you use automotive paints is your base color waterbased or solvent based?
juergen Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 hi ! yes its true the colors are not so cheap but for me they looks nice and i can work good with the paints. and the sanding is no problem when i take waterbased base color i don´t take the 2 compound clear coat. on the roof of the charger there is no clear coat. when i brushed with tamiya or automotive paints that´s no problem to use the 2 compound clear coat. greets jürgen
noname Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 That looks really, really good. Awesome paint and wheels. I have always loved these cars in black,... but the again what car doesn't look good in black.
Custom Hearse Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 That is a beautiful looking charger Juergen! My first car was a '68 Dodge Charger, but it was painted (yuchhh) metallic green. My mom made me sell it.... I was only 14 at the time, and didn't have a license.... Oh well.... Anywho, you did an excellent job on the vinyl top! it looks very realistic! Looking forward to seeing the engine build. Keep up the awesome work!
juergen Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 hi guys ! i´m happy that you like it. now the engine is ready. but i must wait for the finish of the body to glue the parts all together. greets jürgen
