johnfin Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 I have seen alot of vintage truck cabs in resin. What do prople do for the rest of the truck?
Plowboy Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Find a kit of the same make and similar model year to use for the donor parts.
Chariots of Fire Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Do a lot of scratch building and grabbing things from other kits like Roger says.
Fat Brian Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Yep, like the other posters said, you kitbash what you can and scratch build the rest. I recently bought a 41 Chevy COE cab from Jimmy Flintstone, it's literally just a cab and grille. I'm going to use the frame and suspension from the Dodge L700 kit, I've got axles from Shapeways, I'm going to try cast some tires, I need to get the engine 3d printed, the rest I've got to build myself.
johnfin Posted June 22, 2022 Author Posted June 22, 2022 Does anyone made trim parts for the resin cabs
stavanzer Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Mostly, Resin Cabs will come complete with the interior and some of the trim for the cab. You have to provide everything else. Chassis, Axles, Wheels , Engine, and all the small bits. But it varies so much by Resin Caster, and Truck that it is hard to answer your questions without more detail on what Cab you are looking at. Do you have a specific kit or truck in mind? Regards, Alan
