dougwintz Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I wanted to build something simple. This Hasegawa kit looked like a candidate. But what appeared to be an engine in the kit was just 1/2 of an engine block. I couldn't leave well enough alone so I looked around for a donor kit. Can you guess what the kit was? Beyond that, I was reminded how relatively easy it is to build a F1 or GT model with a lot of decals, versus a plain white car. Nowhere to hide!!! 2
peteski Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I don't know which kit provided the engine, but this sure is one cute little car. Looks a bit like the original Mini Cooper.
happy grumpy Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Looks like a Trabant 2 cylinder, 2 stroke engine. It looks right at home .Nice build by the way . This one is on my list to build. ?
89AKurt Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I've considered getting this kit, but instead got the Supercar Modeling Project 24 Z (600 Coupe in the USA) resin kit, which has a 2 part engine. What you did passes, way more work to duplicate, which would have doomed completion. Wish there is a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R 1/24 scale engine, that would be the Japanese equivalent of a Chevy SB. ?

You never know what might be lurking there.
