Up the Down Staircase was a 1967 film based on the book of the same name that deals with an idealistic young teacher's difficult first confrontation with reality.

"Mindset" where it's come to mean "personal perspective" or "lived experience" or one kind of bias or another has displaced objective reality...to our peril.

Peril faced Miss Nell our poor damsel in distress as she was tied to the railroad tracks waiting for Dudley Do-Right to come rescue her, but alas he was busy hiding in his room building a scale model of a stage coach.

Boys went down to the fishing hole to see if Miss Betty Lou was out skinny dipping in the pond again but got the shock of their life when ol' John Wannamaker popped up out of the water naked as a jaybird.

"Jaybird" was the nickname of a cute little fluffy blonde girlfriend I haven't thought of in many years.

Years of doing the same thing expecting a different result.

Result of the kids bodywork was what you would expect when you use 3 old beer cans and a gallon of bondo to patch a dented fender.

Fender flares were once a popular alteration to performance cars but now they come from the factory optioned as a wide body.

Body of the '78 Vette kit I bought at McCrory for $1  left the mold before it was finished but MPC was kind enough to send me another body.

Body parts in her freezer from previous dates might be a potential warning sign when considering a new romance.
