Tim W. SoCal Posted February 2 Posted February 2 "text me" is now a frequent reply to attempted communication, and though texting is unobtrusive and convenient, I SERIOUSLY miss spoken conversations with people 1 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 2 Posted February 2 People who text in lieu of any other communication rarely have much of any great importance to convey, though texting can be very convenient for some things; for business communications, I still insist on email or snail mail, as hard copies ensure both parties can refer back and see what was actually discussed and agreed to, in unambiguous depth and detail, and no inadvertently "lost data". 3
LennyB Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Data when sent from your phone is no longer yours once you hit send it's now free to roam, your ISP stores it on their servers and they have free access to it, law enforcement agencies have the right to see it, the person you sent it to of course can see it and so can anyone they share it with, so be careful what you say before you hit send it may come back to haunt you in the future. 3

LennyB Posted February 2 Posted February 2 World is not round but it's more like the toy ball my dog has been playing with for the last few months, sort of high in spots and low in others. 2

Ace-Garageguy Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Have Gun, Will Travel was a great old "cowboy" series that always had a moral lesson just under the surface.
LennyB Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Surface of the roads this morning was icy, saw a pickup truck that tried to do a pirouette on a curve and ended up in the woods. (hope the driver was OK)
Tim W. SoCal Posted February 3 Posted February 3 woods are where the flowers, grass and trees grow, you can throw down a blanket and watch the sun fall so low while you lament that the day went too quickly and didn't pass by slow

LennyB Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Mind your own beeswax is an old expression that basically means mind your own business and may have it's origins dating back to when people sealed their letters with bees wax to protect the contents until it got to it's intended recipient. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 3 Posted February 3 "Recipient" is a concept some USPS employees apparently struggle with. 1 1
LennyB Posted February 3 Posted February 3 With the recent verbal attacks on the USPS many postal workers have been calling 111 and select the mental health option. 1 1
Tim W. SoCal Posted February 3 Posted February 3 option lists and offerings for new cars used to be exciting, diverse and pretty long, now the dealers just order all their vehicles with similar trim packages, most of them focused around deficiently skilled drivers, creature comfort and infotainment systems 3
A modeler named mike Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Systems, all a go, yelled the chimp astronaut in a chimpanzee dialect, but unfortunately no one at the mission control center knew what he was saying, so the spacecraft just sat there. 1
