Here’s the second part to my Chevy Stepside project. I’m going to be keeping this one as a 2wd, but I’m going to be lifting the truck and putting one a set of 31’s. If I’m able to, I’ll get a couple of the ‘95 GMC Sonoma kits and lengthen the Vortec Fuel injection and putting it onto this 454. If not, I’ll leave the fuel injection alone and have a blast building this truck.

Got the fenders and hood done. That was the easy part. Now I’ll start working on sanding and filing the back of the cab, to make the two areas, where my index finger is, go around the back of the cab and line up to meet the bed.

This is what I’m talking about making those body lines wrap around to the back of the cab. Got the left side done, now I just need to get the right side done. Once I’m happy with the cab, I’ll be able to start working on the bed.

Got the rear of the cab done, now I might keep working on it, to get it exactly the way I want it, or I’ll leave it alone. Not sure right now. Now time to start working on the bed of the truck.

Got the bed started. Putting a wood bed floor from a AMT ‘55 Chevy truck. Now I just need to figure out how I want to do the step pad area.

Cool to see the details so far! I think the stacks work on this bodystyle since it still has that squared feel of the 70's.

Thank You.

Here’s a couple pictures of what the ride height will look like, when I get my truck all done. I’m debating with myself on if I want the truck to be white and forest green or dark gray and black. Leaning towards the white and forest green.

Looking good! Tire and wheel choice look really good ?

Thank You. I’m going to be masking and painting my own graphics on the truck as well. With the body work done, now I need to turn my attention to the grille and the interior.

Got one of the big stripes done today. It’s Tamiya Clear Orange over Testors Chrysler Bright Platinum Metallic. The other big stripe will be Tamiya Clear Red on top of the clear orange. The rockers are going to be Tamiya Orange Metallic over black and the main color will be Testors Turquoise.

I’m going to be combining all three of these three grilles to make the one I’m wanting. Going to be using the headlights from the ‘88/‘89 grille and the grille insert piece, from the AMT GMC 3500 street machine.
