Joe Lange Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Hello All, Looking for some opinions on southeastern model car shows and I know this is probably opening Pandora's Box because it's opinion-based. There are hardly any model car shows here in Alabama, but since my wife and I have just retired we don't have a problem with a little traveling, (by car). I want to keep it within this part of the country for now so......my question is, what are some of the 'better', (bigger?), model show in this part of the U.S.?
John B. Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 There is a group in Smyrna, Ga. who meets monthly and has a fantastic show, usually in November. They are the Atlanta Car Model Enthusiasts (ACME). 2
mikemodeler Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 The ACME show in November is on the first Saturday and it is worth the drive. The quality of the models as well as the large swap meet makes it "THEE" show to attend. There are also some shows in SC and Florida, depending on how far you want to drive. 1
Joe Lange Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 OK!! Thanks guys. I'll see if I can find some info on it.

mrm Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 The weekend following the ACME show, there is usually an IPMS show in Smyrna, TN too. It's not car model specific and it's not that big, but it's run by some great folk and has a decent vendor attendance.
Jantrix Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I can recommend JAXCON, an IPMS show in Jacksonville, Florida. @crazyjimDo you still have your shows in Ocala?
crazyjim Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 JAXCON changed their judging rules 3 years. I haven't been to it since. We haven't done the Billetproof show in 3 years. Ownership of Billetproof changed hands, covid hit, and Garlits wants more money to use his propertry. Maybe 2023 somewhere close.
