kenlwest Posted August 31, 2022 Author Posted August 31, 2022 I finished up the paint and gold trim. Not the best, but good enough for my limited painting skills. I glued the radiators in place, and here are a few pictures of them.
kenlwest Posted August 31, 2022 Author Posted August 31, 2022 I permanently attached the front and rear suspension and drivetrain.
kenlwest Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 The headers were modeled and printed in one piece. This is one of the advantages of 3d printing; the part does not have to be removed from a mold. Each tube lines up correctly as they were modeled.
kenlwest Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 The headers are fitted to the engine.
cobraman Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 What a cool project of a very cool car. It looks terrific ! Quite a bit different than working on a 1/25 scale model.

Here are the fuel injection and ignition parts fresh off the printer. I'll be plumbing and wiring next week.
kenlwest Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 I forgot to show the installed seat.
Lee Yoder Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Any chance this will be offered up for sale? Later, Lee
absmiami Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 just in case you were wondering - this is at least as good as the old Entex 72 - and probably a little better ... trust me - I know ... and I very much prefer the cigarette maker livery - which is weird because I am devoutly anti-tobacco ...
kenlwest Posted September 6, 2022 Author Posted September 6, 2022 I have the ignition system in place. I need to find a suitable material for the injector lines. More to come on that.
kenlwest Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 I added the rear stabilizer and intakes. 1
kenlwest Posted September 10, 2022 Author Posted September 10, 2022 Today, I managed to make a little progress. I made the fuel lines from extruded yellow pla filament. Maybe it's too yellow, but I couldn't find anything else laying around that I could use. The lines are a bit translucent, which was a fortunate accident. I painted and glued the inside of the wheels into place, and then permanently glued the wheels and tires on the suspension. Also glued the roll bar in place as well as the rear wing "w" brace. 1
kenlwest Posted September 11, 2022 Author Posted September 11, 2022 Rear wing and reservoir tank in place. 2
kenlwest Posted September 13, 2022 Author Posted September 13, 2022 Getting close to completion. Decals and windshield yet to go. I will be building a vac-form machine to make the windshield. It is close to 5 inches long. 1
kenlwest Posted September 13, 2022 Author Posted September 13, 2022 Almost looks like it's sitting on wet pavement!
absmiami Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Model factory hiro makes some fuel line for large scale and small - but its hard to source - have a look around for the next Cosworth …
