gwizlo89 Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 What are some tips and tricks people use to make piping for intercooler? I tried using heated styrene but it always deforms. Any suggestions?
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Are you trying to use styrene tube? You'll have much better luck with rod.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) People also use solder, or heavy gauge copper wire, but the diameter of those is usually too small for 1/25-1/24. Edited September 7, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
gwizlo89 Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 I'll try the wire method, when I used styrene rod, it tends to cool way to fast and repeated heating causes the material to flatten in some portions. Thanks for the input!
NOBLNG Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 If you touch a sharp bend with any solvent cement, it will instantly crack unless you heat it to take the stress out.
