XYHARRY Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Hi guys and gal's, I'm new to the forum and would like to show you this el camino that I built about 20 years ago. I recently dismantled it for a clean and quick respray. It's my favourite model and was built as a body off chassis style full show car. I hope you like. Cheers. 4
Zippi Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 That's a pretty slick looking 59 El Camino. I have one in my stash that I've thought about building but just never got to it. Great job on a clean and quick respray.

espo Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Great looking El Camino. I like the Pro Street style and the color combination looks good. I also have had a couple of El Caminos, but mine were the second-generation models, and also see my Avatar for my '67 El Camino 350hp/396cu with 4 speed bought new.

I'm from Australia so these type of utility vehicles are close to our hearts. Some pics of my 78 El camino.

At one time a few years ago the Pontiac division of GM was going to bring your UTE to the US and market it as an El Camino. I had the local Pontiac dealer lined up to call me as soon as I could order one and trade my '05 GTO, your Monaro. Then the economy went in the pull chain facility and even Pontiac went away.

Yes, very sad for us too. GM has dropped our Holden brand which produced your Monaro/GTO. I had the 02 Commodore SS 5.7 ltr, same body style as your GTO but with 4 doors. Holden prices have now increased 400 to 500%. I sold mine one year before the shut-down.

Pontiac offered a similar model here that was called G8 with a different grill. These are pictures of my '05 GTO when I was selling it in 2016 with only 40k miles.
