Before I had to get rid of everything 12+ years ago, because of life, I had a couple contingency sheets of decals. They were older speed equipment decals and Bonneville Speed Trials decals from the 50s and 60s. Also SCTA, etc. I can't remember who made them and my Google searches haven't brought up anything.

I usually have good luck with searching...

I was hoping someone had an idea of who made them or if there's anything similar. Looking for them for a couple period builds, especially the Bonneville decals.

Thanks.

Many years ago, Revell, when they were based in Venice Ca., offered some decal sheets with sponsor decals and another with Drag Class window markings. I have a couple of them left but I don't think they would work because of their age.

Don't sell those old sheets short.  Cut one out and try it, you might be surprised.  Worst case, some clear spray or brush-on "decal saver" can be applied to them.

Will need to try that, I have some old Fred Cady decals myself. What type of decal saver?

Quite often a few thin layers of ordinary clear lacquer will work.  But you need to keep the buildup very thin so they will conform to any surface irregularities and not stick out proud of the body surface. Testors also offers a decal spray designed to be used on their decal paper, you may want to try that.

Thanks for the thoughts on using the old decals. A couple of years ago I built an old Datsun 510 kit with the BRE Livery. This kit has been reissued several times and usually as a stock or tuner style 510. If the subject is of an interest, I would recommend grabbing one as it is a great little kit. My point is that the kit I had was from the last century and the decals looked sort of yellowed. They laid down just fine and didn't try and come apart. There was a sort of muddy type residue that I cleaned away with a Q-Tip and that was the only item I had to deal with. So now that I have found them, I may just use some of the decals on the next appropriate build.

Info on applying old decals is cool but still interested on the manufacturer or any manufacturer of old Bonneville Speed Decals. Not certain why this got moved???

Thank you.
