I will admit I am horrible at decals. They always split on me. I dId buy a can of Testors decal blonder spray. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ve worked hard at rebuilding an original MPC GTO Super Stocker and don’t want to screw up the decals. They are the new decal though. Thank you.

Being new decals, you wouldn't expect problems. That said if you're impatient when soaking them before installation I have messed up more than a few. I would look at some of the tutorials on the forum from others for suggestions for using and applying decals.

Get yourself a bottle of Microscale Liquid Decal Film. It works beautifully at saving old, flaky decals. All you do is brush it on and let it dry. It's available through most of our favorite sources!

I ordered the Microscope decal bundle of 3 different solutions.

That's pretty much all I have used for almost 40 years. You should be happy with them, as they're very good products.

Great. Love to hear that. You just brush it on. Let it dry. Cut the decal out. Let it soak a tiny bit. Then apply right? Just want to make sure I've got all the steps down right.

If you're talking about for the decal film product than yes.  Brush it on evenly, and let it dry, and than apply as usual.

That's it! It's cool, too, because when you brush it on, it might look a little sloppy--no worries! It dries to a super-thin coat.

Great. It should be here any day now. ?

They cane in the mail. But I'm not sure what each one is for what. The decals I'm using will be from the current MPC GTO Super Stocker. What would I use for this application? The Micro Set?

Thank you.

When I apply decals, I brush the Micro Set onto the spot I'm applying the decal. Then, I get the decal into final position, and flow a tad more under the edges. After a few minutes, I brush on the Micro Sol. I let that just sit. Sometimes, it wrinkles the decal. Don't panic! It almost always flattens back out, and conforms tightly to the curves of the underlying surface.

The decal film goes on before anything else. I apply it while the entire sheet is still intact. I typically wait 30-45 minutes, to let it dry. As always, if there are decals on the sheet you aren't using for your project, it's best to test with one of them, because decals aren't all the same, unfortunately. Hope this has helped! Good luck!
