junkyardjeff Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Since I am putting a straight six in it I would like to put a more correct firewall and shock towers in it so is there a Mustang that could be a good donor.
afx Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) The '67 Mustang/Shelby isn't totally correct for a '60 Falcon but would be an improvement over what the kit gives you. Here are the Mustang parts. The Trumpeter Ford Falcon would be more accurate, photo from the internet: Edited October 10, 2022 by afx
junkyardjeff Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 Thanks and will look for a 67 junker to rob the parts off of,anything is better then what I have now. The first two 60s I built I did not care but now would like to make a little more accurate.
afx Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) Jeff you will need to cut the inner fenders free from the '67 Mustang body. I like to build up all the engine bay panels and glue them to the chassis then paint it as a complete assembly. I even glue in the shock tower (export) braces before painting. Leica007 Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I'm using chassis and interior from a Lindberg 63 mustang, it's working out well. Did have to add some panel to rear. I have pic's I can share if you're interested.
