As for " not liking " someone...sure...go ahead and take their money...and then dodge all inquiries. See how that works out for you....see how well you're "liked"... when word gets around. Sorry Steve, didn't mean to set you off. Just trying to bring some levity to the conversation. 1

Hey....... its ok guys. This is hobby stuff, - life has more important things to get emotional about. But I am irritated that his site takes your money so fast and then I get ignored when I contacted him so many times.

SpeedShift Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Well, seems I got his attention. This afternoon I got an email from Bob at Model Car Garage responding to my July 26th email. He believes the "order is out in the mail system already", and will "get back to you on it later on today or early tomorrow morning as our Internet is down at the moment". Maybe the internet has something to do with it - but couldn't help but notice during this entire episode he was able to post on Facebook. Anyway, I'm hoping we resolve this amiably. I'll post when and how it ends up. 1

Just the snippets you have shared, turned me totally off. When I need Photo Etch, I'll find it somewhere else. I hope Bob realizes that many potential customers, have read this whole thread. I'm sure I'm not the only one who concluded that it is not worth dealing with him.
sidcharles Posted August 7 Posted August 7 he sent an email that his internet is down i always wondered how that worked

SpeedShift Posted Monday at 04:03 AM Posted Monday at 04:03 AM (edited) I just got back from the four-day 2025 IPMS Nationals in Hampton Virginia . Fantastic event! - sorry Bob/MCG wasn't there (the many Automotive category entries were truly awesome - more on that later). Just checked my email and got a tracking number via PayPal for Model Car Garage. So - I'm hoping that this situation is finally resolved amiably for all parties. Twokidsnosleep Posted Monday at 04:22 AM Posted Monday at 04:22 AM This sounds like the Gravity Paints USA fiasco…every excuse in the book and deceptive practices : getting a shipping label but not shipping, the Florida Hurricane is coming, I have a newborn child….etc etc etc. took money and didn’t ship product. Very weird how some do “business”. Buy through other channels and thanks for the warning. I hope you get your stuff soon

Very weird how some do “business”. Buy through other channels and thanks for the warning. I hope you get your stuff soon "sounds like the Gravity Paints USA fiasco…every excuse in the book and deceptive practices " Well I wish I had been given "every excuse in the book", but I have never been given the courtesy of an explanation, just an email asking if I received the order, which leads me to believe the seller himself wasn't even sure it was shipped. If it had been shipped, that was a perfect opportunity for the seller to assure me that was indeed the case: by giving me a tracking number and shipping date. How much effort would that have taken? While he was emailing me. Then we could both direct our concern to the USPS instead of me having to constantly email the seller and calling the seller to find out what was going on. The longer this went on the more concerned I was that something either happened to the seller, or I was in a situation that I could no longer take action or get a refund. "getting a shipping label but not shipping" That's where I'm am at the moment. Billed and paid June 3rd. USPS shipping label was created August 10th. That was a relief. As of today August 13th ....been three days...tracking number still indicates "awaiting delivery to the post office" . No messages from the seller explaining the situation. In the message that was passed along by PayPal to the seller - I offered to close the case if the seller paid for priority mail and got this done. I'll let you all know what happens. I'm not trying to ruin his business. If we get this resolved I may even order from him again. But I think all should be aware that in some cases your order is going to take much more time than expected - so plan accordingly. Edited Thursday at 11:58 PM by SpeedShift
SpeedShift Posted yesterday at 08:28 PM Posted yesterday at 08:28 PM Five days after a tracking number was created by seller, and I still get this: Shipping Label Created USPS Awaiting Item

"if you have not opened a case with your credit card company by now, shame on You." Since I paid him with PayPal I opened a case with PayPal. This was in fact - the recommended procedure. When a seller relies on Paypal for many of their sales - and PayPal contacts them - that does get their attention rather quickly, and it finally got his. Not that it would make him go to the post office in a timely way, unfortunately. "oh; i don't want to hurt his feelings and really want him to like me . . ." I don't care what he thinks of me. But since this guy has had health issues in the past - I'm trying to keep an open mind. Try it sometime. "it's the nineties, y'know." It is? I thought it was 2025. "grow a pair like two apples in a tube sock. we're not going to listen to this all winter." Geeeez. Who stuck the stick up your behind? If you don't want to listen to this, .....THEN DONT OPEN THE THREAD. And I thank you in advance for not commenting from now on. Edited 20 hours ago by SpeedShift 1 2
