Can you tell what is going on with the roof of the Lincoln? If I remember correctly about this car, there is a cool trick there.

Apparently the green Lincoln was heavily chopped, and there is a good article on it at https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/chopped-custom-lincoln-premiere

Beyond that, I could not find much on the purple Lincoln

It seems John D'Agostino really liked Lincolns and did some cool things with them. Here is one called Cadinental

Last night I checked out the link. I could get there, but once I went to an issue, I could not get back to the home screen with all the issues unless I closed out and relaoded the link. Any suggestions?

Just PM'd you

So yes, I like weird! :) This one is the AREX sports car by David Stollery and Gale Banks. HRM April 1992

And if 1991 was a building year for the big names in hot rods, 1992 was when those builds were shown off. None better than this rendition of the '37 coupe

The names associated with this build - incredible! Ken Fenical of Posies Street Rods putting together a Thom Taylor design and handmade body.

Boyd Coddington Alumacoupe also began in '91 and was presented to the public in '92 (although it must've gotten its moniker at a later time)

This gullwing 30's coupe has a throwback vibe to the show cars of the 50's and 60's. I like its distinctiveness. :)

Such interesting history there! For me at least, that '34 coupe is the very definition of ultimate Hot Rod! Thank you for sharing

Apparently, the car has gone on to have another life too, now owned by Scott Rogers...

Does anyone know of a 1:24 / 1:25 scale model along the lines of this car? Anything like Porkchop's Altered or Rat Fink would be great too.

There is just something so classic about this '39 Studebaker pickup. 100 years from now, it will still be rolling art. HRM August 1993

I'm starting to see the beginnings of today's hot rod aesthetic in the 90's builds. One nice example is this '72 Chevy truck done by Tim Sousamian; slammed suspension, non-essentials shaved, ultra-clean lines, two tone paint.

Then comes along C.K. Spurlock's '49 Mercury "Merroder"! I never even heard of it before, and yet IMHO it's as beautiful as any other custom hitting the scene at that time. HRM December 1993
