cobraman Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Yes he does like the vehicle but does point out some possible long range problems with an EV. He only had it for 2 months . I would like to see what he thinks after he had it a year. He may still love it but it would be interesting to know at least to me.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 You know, everybody loves their brand new car right off the bat. That’s universal. I’m sure you have all seen those television commercials from the auto makers boasting about their “JD Powers” awards for “initial quality”. Those awards are based a lot on consumer’s initial thoughts about the vehicle that they just bought within the past 3 months and are most likely largely based more on emotion than actual hard evaluation. I’ve never given much weight to an award based on surveys of people within the heart of the honeymoon period, right after spending $40,000.00 on a new car, when nobody wants to admit to themselves, or anyone else, that they bought a piece of junk. The real test will come down the road when that honeymoon period is over with, and the the true gravity of the consumer’s decision becomes apparent after getting some real miles on the vehicle. LL3 Model Worx Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 A bit unrelated but. I Bought my wife a new camry for Christmas 3yrs ago... aside from using very expensive specific oil it has been a very good car. Just hit 60k and is as good as the day I bought it. I will say I don't really like how hollow the doors feel and sound when you close them but that's because I'm used to old heavy GM junk. And, I got a surplus of brownie points and it's not even electric...
