What are the differences (chassis-wise) in the AMT Supertrucks & the car kits? I don't have a truck kit to compare....minor?.. major?

Any help appreciated!! TIA!!

The components themselves seem to be the same as their car counterparts. The chassis is simply made to fit the truck asthetic. IE Laughlin front steer components, engine.

Truck chassis is 100% new to that series. Width, cage etc.

Both much needed info!

...guess this explains their higher price tags at auction.

Probably gonna hafta "bite the bullet" in order to proceed w/ plans.

Funny you should ask, last night I looked on over. The chassis plate, roll cage are different. I think the rear end and seat are also different. As for higher prices the kits were made in much lower quantities than cars. Both Monogram and AMT offered the trucks with only Monogram offering a Dodge. The wheelbase is also longer which might be good for sportsman conversions.

I got my kits on eBay for 15 a piece. But that was 8 years ago or so. The Monogram NAPA truck I bought was 30.00 I think and the AMT kits are about the same. Great kits of unusual subjects and that was the appeal.

Exactly what I'm seeing & higher!

*Any odds of trading you outta an AMT Ford powered truck?* (scale issues)

I have the Chevrolet Goodwrench truck kit. It is painted black and I was in the process of removing a bad decal job the previous guy did.

The engine and axle are partially assembled (well), the rest is untouched. It has a new Slixx decal set to boot. The decals ara impossible to get these days.

Its not a Ford though...
