Scale-Master Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 Note to self. Install the delicate tie rod after installing the body for the final time. I drilled the ends of the part and will fix with a steel pin. 1
Scale-Master Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 I'm good with this repair. I had to sand just a little bit after cementing the pin in. Then I brush repainted the center section.
Scale-Master Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 So much for painting the body early and letting it dry for a while… I was happy with both the color and the finish of the Bright (Cheez Whiz) Orange, but after working on the tug I decided I liked the Camel Yellow even more for it. It also fits the inspiration for this project better, the BRE BrockBuster 510. 1
Scale-Master Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 The grille and taillights are done… 4
Scale-Master Posted January 12, 2023 Author Posted January 12, 2023 I planned to use both the front spoiler and the oil cooler, but upon reading the instructions I saw they were either one or the other. Since I'm keeping this one out-of-the-box I bent up the PE oil cooler bracket to move the cooler up and forward. Still OOB and I get to do it the way I had envisioned. 3
Scale-Master Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 I started painting the window trim satin black, but decided a dead flat sheen better provided the high contrast look I wanted. The panel lines were done with Tamiya Accent. 1
jaymcminn Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Camel yellow is an awesome color, especially with black trim. This is looking fantastic! 1
Funkychiken Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Sweet build here, great detail and skill, it's going to be a sharp model when it's finished 1
Scale-Master Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 I printed some plates to work with the PE parts that come in the kit. 1
Smilesperhour Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Love the colour choice! Always wanted to do one in the factory yellow colour 1

Scale-Master Posted January 15, 2023 Author Posted January 15, 2023 Ready to mount the body to the chassis. I had to tape the hood closed to keep it from getting damaged from flopping around. The glass fits very well in this kit, especially the windshield and back light. 1

After having a read I see, colour I'm thinking of is safari brown which looks like it was used on a variety of Datsun/nissan just not GTR. Although few now wear it very well. Thanks for the information
