Scale-Master Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 This is from an old 1/32nd scale Hasegawa F-86F Sabre kit. I found it in my Dad's collection and always had been intrigued by that tug (going back 50 years…). Unfortunately there were no instructions in the kit, and the only ones I found online did not include the tug or the engine so I just test fitted the parts until it was done. The tubing is old Tamiya material from motorcycle kits. WIP: 3
Lucius Molchany Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Cool I have been following your progress on the FSM Foru(Gene Rowe here)Great job and it would be nice if more kits had the added parts like this tug 1
stavanzer Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Man, I saw similar Tugs towing engines on the flight lines daily for most of my time in the Air Force. Ours were Olive Drab, and the big P&W F100 is huge compared to the Sabre engine, but wow that brings back memories. All it needs is a Crew Chief, in a T-Shirt driving the thing! Man, Mark you hit Dead Center on this project! Thanks! 1
LDO Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I opened this expecting a J47 powered aircraft tug. 1
TooOld Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Very cool tug and great looking engine ! I also remember these tugs while in the USAF , thanks for the memories ! 1
