2whl Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) Chris Smith and I decided to do this build together, and hopefully I can stay on task and finish it. This is a model of the 1998 Daytona 24hr winner First off is a couple of pics of the contents. Edited December 31, 2022 by 2whl 4

Pierre Rivard Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Hold on here, you guys building one car together or each building one? Option one is a test of friendship, option 2 is a competition. Oohh this is gonna be fun!

stinkybritches Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 My all-time favorite Ferrari race car. I'll definitely be following your build.
bytownshaker Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Looks to be an awesome kit. Hopefully they do a 1/24 version.
Smilesperhour Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Shape looks good, look forward to seeing both these come to life
2whl Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 I've been spending time getting all of the holes drilled and pieces fitted up. A couple weeks ago, I managed to get some paint on a couple of pieces. 1

Pierre Rivard Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I don't know if your red will pop more but anything to see that pink disappear...?
2whl Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 The basic engine is finished, so I checked the fit to the gear box. Then I assembled the wing pylon. A bit tricky because it's six pieces that have to be held together while applying CA. 2
2whl Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) And an even busier bee, Chris Thanks, James I got motivated to do more on the engine and gearbox. The engine needs the injectors installed after I get done painting them. Edited February 14, 2023 by 2whl 1
Chris Smith Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Look at the busy bee ?. It’s nice to see you motivated!! 1
2whl Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 More progress. Wheels done and suspension bits are on there way. 2
Pierre Rivard Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Beautiful work Paul. You did a slight rub of the wheel edges right? Nice touch. Looks like Mr Smith is getting a little nervous looking at your pace of work...?
David G. Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Stellar work so far! This looks like a fantastic model to build. David G.

This looks like a fantastic model to build. David G. Thank you David. I have gotten hooked on building Hiro kits. I laid carbon fibre decals on the interior and got the tub halves assembled. 1
Chris Smith Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Coming together nicely! I’m sure you will probably pass me soon ??
David G. Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 That looks like a tricky lay for the decals. Nicely done! David G.
2whl Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 (edited) Thanks David and Chris After getting the tub together, I touched up the semi black and proceeded to decal the exterior. That's right, the tub is covered in carbon fibre decals. Ten different ones. Once the decals had a chance to dry out, I hit the tub with dullcote. Edited March 9, 2023 by 2whl 1
