What car is on this album cover? (1950s European luxury car??)

So I was listening to Never Gonna Let You Go on YouTube and wondered what car Sergio Mendes was sitting in. The thread title has my best guess. Does anyone here know?

Also- they really knocked it out of the park with that song. Such a great duet about second chances.

i think its an american car, the album was recorded in california and its more rounded than the typical euro cars. my best guess is late 30s/40s gm

Except that I don't think the quarter windows roll down in the car in Steve's picture. Is there another body style, or maybe a Pontiac or Olds using the same body that might have windows that roll partly down?

Edit: Looking at '39 Chevy dealer brochures, they describe the Master Deluxe trim as having "sliding" rear quarter glass. I haven't found any good pics of what that looks like though.
